San Joaquin General Hospital (SJGH) is certified by The Joint Commission as a dedicated Primary Stroke Center. The main goal of the Stroke Program is to deliver definitive care to stroke patients, including medication, within 60 minutes of the patient’s arrival.

SJGH’s Stroke Program ensures that a qualified team of professionals (composed of physicians, nurses, and other health professionals) is available 24 hours per day, 365 days per year to:

  • Provide immediate evaluation of patients who are experiencing a stroke
  • Provide immediate consultation by specialists
  • Provide appropriate care, including delivery of clot- busting medications within 60 minutes of patient arrival
