Curriculum

The Core Patient Care rotations for the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program are:

  • Internal Medicine (2 months)
  • Critical Care (2 months)
  • Cardiology (1 month)
  • Infectious Disease (1 month)
  • Family Medicine (1 month)
  • Emergency Medicine (1 month)
  • Patient Care Electives (2 months)

The residents’ participation in the Ambulatory Clinics spans the duration of the year as a longitudinal learning experience and includes physician-run clinics, such as Cardiology and Infectious Disease clinic, as well as pharmacist-run and collaborative practice clinics.

The Pharmacist-run Clinics include:

  • Anticoagulation
  • Heart Failure
  • Diabetes

Patient care elective rotations include extensions of existing core rotations, namely Infectious Disease, Cardiology, Critical Care, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine. Residents may also choose to complete Advanced Ambulatory Care, an elective rotation that builds on the existing longitudinal ambulatory care learning experience, or an elective in Hematology/Oncology.
