Prepare for a joyful birthing experience by enrolling in San Joaquin General's Maternity Orientation Classes

You will be provided the following educational information:

A virtual tour of the Family Maternity Department which includes Labor & Delivery and Mother- Baby Postpartum Unit
What to expect during your stay for Mom and Baby
Brief Review of Stages of Labor, Medical Interventions and Pain Control
Skin-to-Skin - the Golden Hour
Breastfeeding / Nutrition
Infant Security
What to Bring to the Hospital
Visitation and Photography
Car Seat Safety
Safe Sleep for Baby
Meet with our OBs, Midwives and Anesthesiologists

SJGH Family Maternity Center is the Delivering Hospital for:

Healthy Beginnings Clinics in French Camp, Stockton and Manteca
Community Medical Center Clinics in Lodi, Woodbridge, Mariposa, Stockton (Channel, Hammer & Waterloo), Manteca and Tracy locations.

However, all Seeking a Delivery Hospital are Welcome to Attend!

About the Family Maternity Center Labor and Delivery Baby-Friendly® Unit:

Your birth experience at SJGH begins with the warm and welcoming environment of our labor and delivery unit. The birthing center has private labor and delivery suites, along with operating suites and recovery room for cesarean deliveries. The unit host Perinatal education teaching and lactation center. Adjacent to the Family Maternity Center is a certified California Children Services Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.

English Session: Every Monday at 1:00 - 3:00 pm
